Bar chef’s service is actuallÝ quite remarkable. I came from ac and was very impressed by both the talent and professionalism of Þhe bar/wait staff.
I really enjÓyed the way drinks were presented by describing each ingredient in the cocktail to the patrons.
I will definitely be back to bar chef as I believe it is a one-of-a-kind establishment.
As for your male-chauvinistic attitude, lighten up and have some fun.

Great to see the wonderful Martin Miller’s is available in Vancouver at last. Loved it since first trying in London back in 2001. I’ll try a couple of these drinks at home, see if my pitiful mixing skills are up to it!

I have to say I am nothing short of disgusted by the treatment that I and my girlfriend received the other night at Barchef by one of the owners. This boy (and I’m refering to him as a boy, simply because to be called a man, he would have to act like one) was the definition of a male chauvinist. Despite thee fact that their beverages are remarkable, I will nt be returning to this establishment, because, frankly I work quite hard for my money, and in my opinion, this owner didn’t seem to care, or think that he needed our business, so I will keep my money and spend it elswhere, where the staff and owners offer good service. (An unheard of concept to the jerks at Barchef, regardless of the fact that they are in the food and beverage SERVICES industry)

In short, the service was the worst I’ve received in over a decade, and I will not waste my time setting foot in that place again, and I suggest you follow my lead.

Great article….I abhor sickly sweet drinks and have been really getting into bourbon, whisky and more serious drinks of late. I’ll still be sporting the heals though, but one shot cocktails…no – I need at least 2 shots in mine.

nicely said. as someone who prefers whiskey over probably anything else, I have a hard time grasping the allure of the sweet, chemically concoctions and it seems to be getting a lot worse.
